SUBSTANCE
ABUSE
AA/NA Meetings:
During treatment patients
will attend various AA/NA meetings in the community.
Exposure to different AA/NA meetings provides diversity
and allows choices.
Addiction Education:
This
group is designed to provide education regarding
Chemical Dependency, the disease of addiction and other
related issues. Lectures and films are used to increase
understanding of the complexity of the issues.
Conducted by the program coordinator or therapist. (LMSW-ACP.
LPC, and or LCDC).
Step Study:
This study group involves
intense study and exploration of the “Big Book”
Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and the Twelve
Steps and Twelve Traditions. This may include written
assignments and group discussion. Primary work on the
concepts and principles of the first, second and third
Steps of Recovery will be the focus of this group.
Conducted by a program counselor/therapist.
Transition Group:
This groups works on
implementing new behaviors into everyday life.
Discharge planning and career planning are the focus at
this time. Conducted by a program counselor/therapist. |
