Individual,
Couples, Family & Group Counseling
Assertive Communication:
This group
will use both educational and experimental approach to introduce
ways patients can improve their communication skills as well as
recognize the differences between passive/aggressive and
assertive communication.. Patients will participant in
role-play. Conducted by program counselor/therapist.
Daily Goals/ Reflections:
The purpose is to provide new
patients with information about the group process as well as to
assist new patients in meeting their peers and to offer support
in their adjustment to the group milieu. The patients and staff
meet together to discuss any concerns and to plan activities as
well as ongoing issues upon exit from Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
setting. The time provides an opportunity for support and
community building through daily goal setting, group reflection
and review of the day conducted by the patients with addictive
disorders community.
ETR:
Escape Reality Adventure Challenge
is an experiential therapy. It is performed in the outdoor
setting, in a relaxed natural medium. Individuals initiate and
process feelings about themselves and their behaviors. The
benefits encompass group cohesion communication, trust, problem
solving skills and increased self-esteem. Conducted by
Certified Recreational Therapist.
Family Night:
Free dinner served for any family
member who attends the Family Support Group.
Family Process/Family Days:
Family programming is provided to
offer family members the support and education, which are
essential for them to begin their own recovery process. Please
see Family Program schedule for dates and times. Conducted by a
program counselor and or therapist. (LMFT and LCDC preferred).
Field Trip:
Outings are planned to a variety of
places to assist the patients in becoming comfortable in social
situations. Family members will provide transportation only.
At no time will a member of the Zeitgeist Wellness team
transport a family member, patient etc.
Group Therapy:
Patients and a therapist meet
together to discuss feelings and problems. The group is a
learning arena for letting out feelings, developing new ways of
interacting with others.
Intimacy/Sexuality:
This group
focuses on the in-depth exploration and discussion of intimate
relationships. Previous patterns and styles in intimacy as well
as skills and alternative for improving personal relationships
are examined. Conducted by LMSW, LMSW-ACP, LMFT, and or LPC.
Music
Therapy:
Utilizing music
as an art therapeutic modality of expressing feelings, behaviors
and thoughts as a way of developing new interests, and
increasing a sense of accomplishment. Conducted by a Certified
Music Therapist.
Occupational Therapy:
A variety of arts and crafts
activities are available to use as means of expressing feelings,
as pleasurable activity, as a way of developing new interests,
and increasing a sense of accomplishment. Conducted by a
Registered Occupational Therapist.
Orientation
Group:
This group is designed to assist
patients in understanding the purpose of groups, how to
participate in groups, the unit rules and guidelines, in order
to make cleared the transition into the treatment experience.
Conducted by professional staff.
Phase II:
This group focuses on an
individualized recovery plan, including personalized relapse
prevention planning. Phase II group is designed to help
identify those issues that may render recovery and develop
concrete plans to deal with them. Conducted by program
counselor/therapist.
Psychodrama website
Psychodrama is the soul in action. It is an opportunity to view
your life experiences in a new way. In Psychodrama, an event may
be acted. Attendees can choose to re-experience past life
events or anticipate new ones. One participant takes the lead
while others may assume supporting roles.
Sobriety
Celebration:
This is truly
the acknowledgement by “celebration” of each sober day patients
have accomplished and offers encouragement and support to
continue on the recovery road. Attended by patients and staff
as well as guest speakers.
Step Study:
This study group involves intense
study and exploration of the “Big Book” Alcoholics Anonymous,
Narcotics Anonymous and the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.
This may include written assignments and group discussion.
Primary work on the concepts and principles of the first, second
and third Steps of Recovery will be the focus of this group.
Conducted by a program counselor/therapist.
Transition Group:
This group works on implementing
new behaviors into everyday life. Discharge planning and career
planning are the focus at this time. Conducted by a program
counselor/therapist.
Wellness:
This group is
designed to offer the patient skills and techniques, which will
help them maintain a state of emotional and physical “wellness”
after they leave treatment. Group exercises, yoga, lifestyle
health assessments, nutrition, play/relaxation will be
implemented to enhance the patients’ balanced recovery.
Conducted by Registered Occupational Therapists.
